Pinterest Crafts: Universe in a Jar

Grayson loves learning about the stars and universe. He also is afraid of the dark. So, what better project for us to do then a Universe in a Jar.

All you need is a mason jar or any type of clear jar. I happened to get a mason jar at Goodwill for 77 cents. You also need glow in the dark paint.

All you do is put lots of dots all over the jar and let it dry. It did several runs until Grayson felt that the jar had enough stars in it.

I tried getting a picture of the jar in the dark, but it just was not happening.

  1. I know what you mean about the photo. I did a similar project--glued reflective beads on the outside of a blue bottle and stuck a Dollar Store solar light on top, but had the darndest time trying to get a photo. Got an OK one I stuck on FB (facebook.com/diyandsave).
Bet the kids had fun with this!
